What was your inspiration?
This stole reminds me of a light breeze in a field of flowers. The flower-like medallions in the pattern stitch design are centered with nupp "buds".
What are you most proud of?
Although this stole appears to have complex shaping, it is actually knitted on the same number of stitches from end to end. I've designed this stole to leverage both illusion and the blocking process to achieve the shaping:
1. An illusion is created by the varying width of the garter stitch rows along the side edges as they dip into the main stitch area at regular intervals.
2. Accentuating the points during the blocking process (blocking guide photos included in pattern).
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
