Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Embroidery

Type of item: Clothing

For: Unisex

Style: Cute

Materials

unbleached cotton canvas, dye, binding, embroidery design

What was your inspiration?

I just love Buckskin horses.

What are you most proud of?

How well the whole thing came together with the colors. Everyone really likes it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take a simple apron pattern, get yourself some dye (hot or cold - I use cold) and depending on the pattern you want (I like mottled) create the colour you want for the apron. I used embroidery thread of the same tone so it would match and give a pleasing look for the design. Always try a sample design first on the fabric to see how it will stitch out. Make your adjustments and then start your design with a tear away stabilizer underneath. I used the black binding to frame the apron. It was fun.
