Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Hand-Embellishing Knit Fabric: Stenciling, Appliqué, Beading and Embroidery »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Casual, Funky

Materials

3 layers of Cotton Jersey

What was your inspiration?

This is for my cousin who has lost all her hair due to cancer.

What are you most proud of?

I did the stenciling, first time, and it looks great. Also, tried my hand at bead work. Also, I did this with 3 layers of cotton jersey because I didn't want the knots on the reverse side to scratch her head, so I added the last inner layer before construction of the seams.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This course is outstanding!

A sincere thank you to all who took the time to comment. I really appreciate it. My Cousin called last night, she had just received the hat. She loves it, and cannot get over how soft it is on her head. YEA, adding the third layer on top of all the knots worked!

Looks good - well done! What a great idea to add another layer to stop the knots irritating.
