Scraps from clothing which I made my daughter when she was in college.
What was your inspiration?
Did you ever work on something and have someone said it was ugly? Well, that happened to me in mid-1990 with this quilt. Crushed and depressed, I packed everything away into a box stuffed it
in the back of a closet. After I retired, one of my goals was to clean out all of my closets and dressers. Boy, did I find stuff. Bags and bags went to Goodwill but some of those old projects I decided to finish. A bit older and more confident, I could move forward. I paid for it to be quilted. This is my "Yes, you can do it" quilt.
What are you most proud of?
I plan to give this one to my oldest grandson for Christmas. Some of the fabrics are from clothing of his mother's when she was in college. I think he will get a kick out of it. I backed it in brown and added the same brown border so it would be more masculine. I am proud to have finished it and how nice it turned out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
There will be nay-sayers, but we cannot fold up all our dreams and desires due to them. Just continue forward and have fun with what you are doing.
