2. Make 6 broomstick clusters
3. Turn, chain 1 then SC in each of the 5 SCs in each cluster for two rows

Continue this until piece is 52" long then slip stitch ends together. With right side facing, chain 3, then 3 DCs between each cluster ...

Caron Simply Soft Yarn - a little more than one skein, 6 oz, 315 yards each skein. Crochet hook size I Mop handle

What was your inspiration?

My daughter-in-law asked me to make her something using this stitch. It was a bit of a challenge but now I can do it easily!

What are you most proud of?

The first yard I tried was too thin and hard to handle. I bought a slightly thicker yarn and this one worked much better.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Practice this stitch before trying to make something. You need to master the stitch and figure out how it will look so you can determine how many clusters to make across and how long to go.
NOTE: Most of the images I found online make this stitch one row after the other - but I added two rows of single crochet as I think it stands out better and does not look quite so busy. You'll have to play with it and see what you like.

Thank you! While this was a gift, I liked the color so much I do plan to make myself one after the holidays.
