What was your inspiration?

There are lots of great tie patterns out there--this is my take on it. I wanted a tie that looked and felt like a store bought tie with the added convince of a Velcro neckband. I also wanted to try out a reversible version. So both the classic and reversible tie patterns are included in this pattern.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

When choosing fabric for this pattern you want to make sure you like the way the print or pattern looks on the diagonal (or the bias) of the fabric, because that is the way it is cut out. Some fabric prints/patterns don't look quite right cut on the bias.
