I used and altered clip art for the applique elements to fit my design. I just used a combo of fabrics and colors I liked for the aurora and cut them in a wavy pattern and pieced them together. I like the expression the seal seems to express as he covets the little boy's fish.

Don't be afraid to use clip art and other resources to assist in designs. Just be careful of how you use copyrighted materials.
