Kite-Flying Kyle

Instructions

There was no pattern at the time I made this. I had a Sunbonnet Sue pattern and I wanted to make a boy quilt - but did not have any boy pattern- did not know of the Sam from the Sunbonnet Sue collection at the time. So I had my husband draw this guy- and I call him Kite Flying Kyle...I used the Heat N Bond Heavy - so I had to use the fabric paint around them as You cannot sew through it.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Casual, Funky, Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Cottons, fusible webbing for appliques, and fabric paint. Batting, flannel for back, sewing supplies & tools.

What was your inspiration?

The sunbonnet Sue quilt I made for a girl.

What are you most proud of?

How nice it all came together. And the many nice comments I received with this one.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be creative in your own way- you can make anything you set your heart to making.
