Instructions

I used the tips from Sew4Home how to make box pleats.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage, Romantic, Casual

Materials

I used a cotton designer fabric from Robert Kaufman called Who's That Girl. I had some vintage buttons in my stash that were just perfect

What was your inspiration?

My inspiration was the fabric such a wonderful print. The buttons were a perfect match and this was the first time I've attempted box pleats.

What are you most proud of?

The whole look of the skirt. The box pleats took a bit of time to get them looking the way I pictured it. It is a very flattering skirt to wear.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Measure correctly. I used the 4" ,2" ,method to create my look. I also interfaced the band on one side to add structure.
