If you have a bowling buffer - and you want to make one in your team's colors/material - just make a pattern from the original and go to it. I make 2 pieces - the front and back and then a 3rd piece- a gusset for the in between. I make one for the outside and another for the inside (using felt). Cotton material or Fleece & felt, Quilt binding.Thread, sewing materials and tools.
What was your inspiration?
I've seen many people with these in my bowling league, so I asked someone if I could borrow theirs. I took it home, made a pattern and then made several of these for Christmas gifts for friends and family. I made the white background one for myself - in Gator Material - go Gators!!
What are you most proud of?
How nice they turn out and how pretty easy it is to make.
If you would like me to make one for you - what color would you like? Just let me know - make a comment and I will get in touch with you. Just know, that I cannot make it in Gator licensed fabrics, as I do not have a contract with UF and that is necessary in order to sell any product with the licensed fabrics.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It's pretty easy - but I think it is easier to sew the lining (felt) and the front together - then have the raw edges showing and cover them with the quilt binding tape instead of trying to sew the right sides together and then turn it, but it can be done either way.
