What was your inspiration?

My inspiration for this scarf was the boucle yarn. I was inspired to spin the boucle after a class with Judie Overbeek at Black Sheep Gathering in 2009.

What are you most proud of?

Spinning a stable boucle yarn and then successfully using it as warp in the scarf. The fiber used for the yarn was a merino/silk blend dyed by Dicentra Designs. Both the lace weight (the base for the boucle) and the boucle were plied with nylon sewing thread.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I gave this project a higher difficulty level because of the handspun yarn and because I used it as warp. I had to ease the yarn through the rigid heddle in some areas which meant every beat. But all in all it was exactly what I had envisioned.
