BOTTLE CAP PENDANTS / NECKLACES

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Cute, Casual, Funky, Whimsical

Materials

Flattened bottle caps, images (anything! Family photos even!), epoxy stickers, jump rings, stretchy chocker necklaces, E-0000 glue, and various charms!

What was your inspiration?

Had some bottle caps and wanted to make some personalized pendants for my daughter.

What are you most proud of?

They turned out soooo cute! Many friends and family members asked me to make some for them. I love it!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have to proper tools to work with! Those jump rings can be pretty hard to handle sometimes.

Can I ask you if you could share some general directions with me? Did you paint the back of the bottlecaps or leave as is? How did you punch your holes for the dangles? And do you use the outside of the bottle cap or the inside?

Hi! I left the bottlecapas silver but you can paint them any color. I also use the Euro Tool for punching holes for the jump rings. I use the inside of the bottlecaps to attach the image and then cover it up the the epoxy. But once again, you can use the outside if you prefer. They are easy to use and fun to work with. Good luck!

These are nice. Do you think the women in Africa that I work with could make these under my supervision? They need something that would be inexpensive to make yet be able to sell to help support themselves.
