Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. This is a short plein air study of men unloading fish from a trawler at Boston Fish Dock. It is also the reason for me signing up for this course on perspective. I did the drawing a few days ago on a really cold windy day (so it was a quick drawing as my hands were freezing). The open sided shed had a roof that sloped away from the water and try as i might I simply could not get the perspective correct. I've attached a photo of the scene and another sketch (with some water colour added later). Any advice and comments welcome!

Hello Lucky J, Welcome to Perspective in Landscape Drawing. Congratulations in posting your first drawing[s] for the course. It is appreciated that you provided a good deal of information on the making of these drawings and several images. [It is good to see that students take these lessons in perspective and expand on them.] Next time would it be possible for you to include the dimensions of the paper and the graphite used? Although neither Craftsy or I promote the idea of suffering for one's art, your depictions made in less than ideal conditions paid off. Later I will post a perspective image that will give you some points to consider when projecting a plane similar the shed roof. That being said, this is the type of sketch with which one should be filling there sketch books. Well done. I look forward to seeing the post of your next drawing.
