What materials did you use? Cotton fabric scraps, medium weight fabric for lining, interfacing.

What are you most proud of? The book bag goes really well with the school uniform! But I am really thrilled that Becca has already made up a story for every single fabric book on her bag! Perhaps one day we will read her stories too.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Lesson for me: don't be obsessed with trying to find the perfect matches of fabric scraps,

Abanabana, this is just adorable! I love the "stories" on the outside! What a very clever bag and a clever way to handle her gift, too! The fabrics she chose are delightful (so much better than matchy-matchy) and they are her own choices, so the bag has more meaning for her. I'd love to hear those stories!

Thank you so much! I will pass the compliments on to the little designer! Becca's mum told me later how much she enjoyed the process of choosing the fabrics for her bag. I must admit that it has been a triumphal feeling to me watching Becca stride towards the library the last couple of days.

Just wonderful that the receiver of the gift has chosen the fabrics -- and the result is all the more beautiful. Great choice of colours. The envy of the playground!
