What materials did you use? A shiny red polyester brocade from Joann.

What are you most proud of? That the dress fits so well. It literally fits her like a glove! I am also proud of the fact that I was able to make the dress look so nice with this fabric. It was polyester and a pain in the butt to sew. I had to hand baste most of the bodice seams first because the fabric was so slippery.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just do it! Gretchen's instructing is so good and thorough. I was so confident after taking this course that I made one of her best friend's homecoming dress as well. I used a difficult Vogue (V1174) pattern and even added a lace overlay and it came out great. I would have never attempted something like this pattern if I hadn't taken Gretchen's course first

Beautiful job and a fantastic fit. I too am making one for my daughter and hope that it turns out as well. Red is her color!!!
