Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

lots of fun! Love that Amy shows at least two ways to do each block! I've learned so much.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Home

Style: Traditional, Casual

Materials

trying to stay with western scraps

What was your inspiration?

My inspiration was a sweet friend named Joy, who was kind enough to take the time to teach me to hand quilt. I have sewn my whole life, but wanted to learn to make beautiful quilts like my mom, grandmother, and Joy have made.
Working full time, and living far out in the country, does not offer a chance for classes away from home - at least not until I found Craftsy!!!! I have learned so much from the on-line classes! I can't wait to learn more.

What are you most proud of?

Each finished block makes me smile!!!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I'm pretty much a perfectionist.... if you are too, let it go, and just have fun! With Amy's directions and the printed instructions, it's easy and fun! Biggest challenge for me? Using my current material stash and Not buying new fabrics!!!

You've put a very fresh and innovative spin on the BOM project - it's looking really bright and cheerful. And I really like the lariat (if that's what you call it) effect on the Dresden Plate block - such a clever idea!
