BOM September 2012 -Chain Block Pattern

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Classic, Casual, Traditional

What was your inspiration?

Craftsy BOM for September

What are you most proud of?

All points lined up and curves were smooth.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

These blocks were very difficult and took an entire day to complete. I am OCD when it comes to measuring, cutting, and pressing. I have a GO! Baby with a drunkard's path die that I had never used so it was very beneficial for this block. In making these September blocks I learned from Amy how to pin the curved seams and stitch on the opposite side. Then I pressed and trimmed the block so that they were all nice and even.

Thanks, Nancy. Have fun sewing. Glad you got your machine back. Nothing more frustrating that using a machine that is out of sync. I have three machines because I could never be without one. LOL

Arlene, you have been busy! The curved seams and points look perfect! I can tell you are a perfectionist when it comes to your quilt blocks. This looks like a great deal of work. Your Cleopatra's Puzzle is awesome! Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks, Karena. You have no idea how much I love piecing but curved seams are not something I like doing. These blocks were painful but I do like how they turned out.
