I didn't anticipate comments, so what a nice surprise to read your positive responses! I watched the finishing videos several times and found Amy's strategies for measuring the horizontal sashing and the borders to be most helpful. Now I'm ready to sandwich the layers and plunge into quilting with a walking foot on my little machine! Thank you for your kind words!

I do like the border that surrounds all your squares. I am only up to August and so have'nt read the final instructions yet. I hope I can put those strips between the squares as it really sets the quilt off. Have you followed the instructions or have you improvised? Whatever you did it looks fantastic.

The final set of instructions called for cutting 1.5" strips for sashing, but I wanted it a bit wider so cut 2" strips. Then I used 3" strips for the border, instead of the suggested 2.5". The dark fabric also seems to set off the blockes nicely -- a much more pleasing effect than I anticipated! Amy's instructions for finishing the quilt top are really excellent. I viewed the videos several times and followed the handouts exactly, except for enlarging the width of the strips. I'll be interested in seeing your work, too!

Your dresden block rocks!

Thanks, Pat! I saw a Modern Dresden using stripes in Projects and liked the animated effect, so opted stipes in mine. Also wanted a solid center because my background fabric was too light. The result pleased and surprised me!

Pleasant, restful and wonky all at the same time.

A fellow quilter, who inherited A LOT of fabric from an aging crafter, told those of us in the Wednesday Quilt Group about the free Craftsy Block of the Month class with Amy Gibson. And she invited us to help ourselves to any of the inherited fabric for the project! Most of the fabric in my quilt top I got from her. It wasn't designed to go together, but it did come together. I like your choice of words, PastorT. Yes, the result is pleasant, restful, and wonky! Thanks for your comment.
