What advice would you give someone starting this project? Print an extra copy and use it to figure out the needed size of your fabric blocks. It would have been much more helpful if Amy had provided measurements for the different pieces - I had some issues at the beginning with using scraps that were a tiny bit too small.

Thank you!

I like that bit of helpful advice you offered. One of the things that I like to avoid with the whole paper piecing thing is guessing (wrong sometimes!) or even way overestimating fabric shapes. I had come up with a way around that for my spider web block. And I was planning on making separate rough templates for the cutting stage of other pp blocks I'm getting ready to do in the near future.

I wish we had gotten a bit more guidance - my friend and I started out this block by underestimating, then way overestimating, in order to make the sizes work.

I have to go to a friend's house to print up the pattern. I'm getting impatient cuz it looks like fun!

Love the way your background fabric adds even more movement to the flying geese. Well done!

Thanks! I'm hoping when it all gets together it's not too brown.
