Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

Amy's instructions and material are self-explanatory.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Materials

Quilting fabrics from my stash.

What are you most proud of?

Framing the pretty flower fabric with dark fabric, taking the original Greek Cross pattern into a different direction. There would not have been sufficient contrast otherwise. As a bonus, it allows me to stretch the flower fabric for which I am running low, only half way into the BOM program.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Do not hesitate to customize any block in a way that better suits the fabric combination or simply your taste!

I love the way you framed that center print. It gives the block a great new look.

Thank you. I needed to introduce the contrast. Otherwise, the block would have looked "washed-out".

Thank you. I hope Amy tells us how we will assemble the blocks. It would help managing the colour choices for the remaining blocks.

Thank you. I bought these fabrics some 5 years ago when I took my first Quilting course. I never finished the Sample Quilt because I was sewing it all by hand, so I decided to complete it through the BOM. I now have a sewing machine, thank goodness!
