What materials did you use? Contemporary cotton print fabric. I am very comfortable working with batiks, and wanted to stretch to something that will challenge my sense of color, balance, and contrast.

What are you most proud of? Don't know yet. Concerned about the green/white band in the Chevron... is it too light? What about the hot pink in the balkin star?

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have a lot of options from your stash to chose from. Use a design board to place the pieces (and make changes) before you start sewing. I am sure that as the blocks come each month the focal point/impact will change. Challenge is to keep so many strong prints in balance.

I LIKE your fabric choices, and that you're doing two very different versions of the BOM. As to your questions about the fabrics in your description above, I think when we get more of the same fabrics worked into future blocks, it can pull everything together even better.

thanks, Pat. I have so little experience with contemporary/lively fabrics and can see where future blocks maybe with repeated fabrics will make me mor comfortable.
