I reckon that if we are off a tiny bit when we are learning it is fine ... after all we are "learning" .... and when we come to put the blocks together we can always fudge the seam allowance the tiny bits on the sashing to square up to the 12 1/2 or could even trim to square up to the 12 3/8 or 12 1/4 and it will all be fine ... 99% of ppl would not even realise witrh it being all the blocks are different anyway .... and to me the most important thing to remember is that as we do this course, we are "learning" what adjustments to our methods we would need to make, were we to use a specific block for a complete quilt using repeats of the same block. So no beating up on yourself, this is all a "learning curve"
