What are you most proud of? The quilt is all nice & crinkly from being washed & dried I love the woven border & will use it again I tried all kinds of FMQ motifs - the Hex stripe block was an experiment in scale - I used Leah's feather filler (thanks to Cindy Needham), small at the top & getting bigger as I went

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Do take your time I discovered that I am not very fond of high contrast quilting thread colors, but I do like slight contrast in the quilting thread color - but I did like the variegated thread in the border

You quilt stopped me in my tracks! Not only are you fabric selections harmonious, but the sashing is inspirational Thank you for sharing a close-up of the border work.

The sashing came from Peggy Martin's Quick Strip Paper Piecing class - LOVE it! My feathers are getting better all the time - practice, practice -

Love this I just started the 2012 BOM at the beginning of this year when I "found" the Craftsy website. I have almost finished my 2012 Dr Seuss and have been agonising over how to piece the blocks together. Your slashing is a winner and Thankyou for sharing

Thank you! For me, this sashing really sets off the blocks nicely.

Absolutely beautiful! All your feathers are fantastic on all your projects. It only took you a year to get this good? I'm inspired to dive in. I did hand embroidery for years so maybe it won't be so bad.

The Craftsy classes on Free Motion Quilting taught me everything I know - I'd recommend Ann Petersen's class & Cindy Needham's class. You'll do a lot of practice! Get some muslin & make practice sandwiches & just keep at it. When I look at my first laughable attempts, I do realize I've come a long way!
