I did a straight topstitch to applique' the hexagons onto the background block.

What was your inspiration?

I have never been a big fan of hexagons on quilts. I guess I never paid them much mind. I love the way this block turned out. It was tedious though. It would be great for a rainy weekend in front of the TV. It took me the better part of the day to get it done. Having said that, I'm glad I tried it and it made me feel good to complete it. I don't see a lot of English paper piecing in my future though.
