What was your inspiration?
This is my way to make the 1. hex block :)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I made the block like this: I cut 2 blocks, both about 14-16 inch big. So I drew a diagonal line on the back of the fabric, about 2 inch from the corners (I think, did not write this down). I sewed on this linje (likely HST) and so I cut the fabrics away 1/4 inch from the line. Pressed it and chose were to cut the 12,5 inch block. Finally I added the hexagons.
Hope You can understand this explaination - my English is not so good...;) (I used the fabrics I cut away for the hexagons!) I added a photo that is taken during the prosess, maybe it helps!...
