Mine would have been better had I used quilting cotton for the foundation (as that becomes the star) instead of the muslin I did use. The muslin is very light and stretched where the pieces come together to form the center of the star.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
My granddaughter pulled the strips from my scrap bag and handed them to me to sew--there was no attempt to consciously chose the colors, but both of us really like the result!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
In this case, your foundation fabric becomes the center of the 'star', so use something substantial (and not the muslin I use for foundation piecing.
