What was your inspiration?
I was inspired to branch out and try a variety of modern blocks. I created the border from leftover motifs and scraps. I wanted a random look in the border. The border was inspired by a Japanese quilt show at the LaConner Quilt Museum a few years ago.
What are you most proud of?
About half way through the year I decided this quilt is a "sketchbook" of different ideas and techniques I wanted to try. I am most proud that I kept playing with my ideas and finished the top!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It's ok to just ignore the "rules" and just have fun with your project.
