What are you most proud of? The choice of fabric for the background works nicely with the white of the asterisk. The turquoise isn't as dark as Amy's purplish-red chevron pattern, but the contrast is still great enough to help the asterisk take centre stage. The asterisk parts seem to meet in the middle and that is what we are aiming for with this block technique.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This project might seem easy and on one hand it is very straight-forward, on the other hand attention to details is required for successful excecution. Pay attention when finding the middle of things, unless you want a crooked asterisk, and especially when handling the bias of fabric. Normally I press seams open, but I decided to try pressing away from the asterisk and this produces lots of bulk at the later stages (as you can see in the photo). Don't sew things to each other the wrong way, but double-check before pushing the pedal (as you can see in the alternative photo). While it caused quite the merriment at the pressing stage, I'm not *that* fond of the seam ripper.
