What are you most proud of? As I was making the blocks for my Craftsy BOM 2012, I had the idea that I would use up the leftover fabric for the blocks to make the back but I had not idea how I was going to do it. The I found this course and my problem was solved! I spent a happy day cutting the leftovers into usable chunks and then laying them out out on the lounge floor and moving them around (lots!) till they fit. I had a heap of strings leftover too so I made a giant wonky log cabin block and added that. I gave it a white border so it would stand out. At first I laid the pieces out with quite a lot of overlap so I thought I might have to add more fabric but as I sewed them together they spread out and I only needed to add a small strip along the bottom, which will probably end up being cut off after quilting.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Let your imagination run free and enjoy the process and the piece you end up creating. Be aware that 1/4" seam is actually really small so if it looks like you won't have enough fabric, you might find you do just because you've overlapped the pieces more than you needed to.

What a great idea. Thanks for posting.
