Drunkards path and Cleopatra's puzzle

Drunkards path and Cleopatra's puzzle

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Mod

Materials

Fabric from the Makower Sew Patchwork range and the background fabirc is makower spectrum range

What was your inspiration?

Always wanted to do patchwork and quilting and noticed this course mentioned on a forum. It's exactly what I was after and being a monthly thing there is no pressure on trying to get it done

What are you most proud of?

Stitching curved seams and not getting a crease or fold included in the seam. The square also came out the right size - horah!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Pin as per the instructions and sew really slow. Keep adjusting the gathers of the fabric whilst sewing the seams so you don't get creases in your fabric. It's a little time consuming but so worth it when you finally press the little squares to reveal a perfectly made curved piece.

Love your blocks and agree with the pinning and going slowly - I wouldn't mind a whole quilt in the Drunkard's Path - maybe one day I will have the time.
