Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

On some of the squares I redid my pressing - and pressed to the light side, so my pieces would snug up together. It helped with the bulk in some of the corners.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Funky, Mod

Materials

100% Cotton fabrics from my Black & White Stash!

What was your inspiration?

I wanted my Chevron block to be really bold and funky - so I chose the black w/ white dots. I like how it turned out - altho in that block, the whites in the b/w fabrics are more of a creamy white. I hope that won't matter when I put my whole quilt together. My other blocks for Jan/Feb are more of a white-white.

What are you most proud of?

I like both of these blocks alot! I think I will use more of the grey in Block #3 in a future block... which means a trip to the quilt shop! Oh darn! :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Cut your blocks a thread/smidge larger than called for. Use your 1/4" foot and sew it scant. You can always cut down a block if it's too large... this tip has helped me a lot in making these blocks!
