What materials did you use? This bold statement necklace is packed with detail, leaving no room for subtlety! The central pendant is made with an Indian Agate donut, which I have set in a viking knit bezel and surrounded in copper bicone beads. Three tassels hang from the bottom, made with faceted and round Indian Agate beads on a handmade wrapped copper chain and finished with green agate drops. The pendant is connected to the necklace by two hand forged spiral hook clasps, which I have hammered and then woven with thin copper wire, to add a contrast in textures. The last 2 images in the sequence show the position of the hooks when the necklace is worn. I have made the chain using the double Viking knit technique, to produce a chunky and very sturdy chain, which I have finished with two handmade end caps and faceted Indian agate beads. The Viking knit chain is 24" from clasp to clasp. the pendant is 4 3/4" from the top of the donut to the bottom of the longest tassel and 1 3/42 at it's widest point. The necklace has an inside diameter of 24" when closed.

Wow! A great showcase piece for different uses of Viking knit! You are a terrific inspiration!

Thank you Heather - there are so many possible applications of the technique, there just aren't enough hours in the day to explore them all :)

Just googled viking knit nice touch for a very rustic look, as usual a very gorgeous piece of work. Thanks for sharing.
