Materials

The ribbon is made of hand dyed silk in tones of beautiful terracotta with purple. The rich red lampwork beads make a great accent and really bring out the warmness of the terracotta colour. Dangling from the silk wrap are 3 Kuchi coins from Pakistan. They make such a wonderful gentle sound... fantastic for belly dancing or just to wear on a warm summer day.

What was your inspiration?

I felt inspired by tribal fusion belly dancing and by the clothing worn by the Kuchi tribes in the Middle East. So I wanted to create something that represented this and that would also be comfortable to wear in both everyday day to day life and for dancing. The coins are not only authentic tribal accessories from the Middle East but also have make a lovely jingle sound while in movement.
