Asian inspired silk brocade.
What was your inspiration?
I always wanted to create a fitted, "perfect for me" dress. I saw this class from Gretchen and it had my name all over it.
What are you most proud of?
I made the dress out of a silky brocade. I knew when I purchased the fabric that it might be a challenge, but I loved the fabric so much, that I was determined to make it work.
I finished 100% of the seams (something I've NEVER done before), which takes a lot more time, but creates a beautiful look and feel on the inside of the garment.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
GO FOR IT! Gertie makes the class fun and easy to follow. The videos are great for pausing, rewinding and playing again. For some of the more challenging parts of the dress, it was nice to be able to play a specific segment over and over until I understood it. Awesome class! I can't wait for Gertie to come out with another one. :D
