Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I hand molded the instruments out of fondant, then painted them with some coloring gel. I Layered the cake and iced it with chocolate buttercream icing and did a basket weave on the sides only. Then I put a layer of chocolate fondant on the top and about half way down the sides, smoothing the top and allowing the sides to hang free like a tablecloth. Then I cut an oval of white fondant and placed the instruments in the center, propping the bass fiddle and the guitar with a stick covered in fondant. I think I would use a chocolate covered pretzel stick the next time. I will also put something under the fiddle just so you can see it a little better.
