What was your inspiration?

My inspiration for this is my tween age daughter. She loves girly fashions, and some that are very classic/retro in style. She loves the flair of the 50's style poodle skirts, and the classic looks worn by the teens on television during that period of time. She also likes to be able to wear leggings and blouses or turtlenecks underneath a dress or skirt. One other thing she likes to do is pick out the yarn or material and tell me what she wants made from it, such as the style of skirt, what type of sleeves and collar. This was one of those fashion thoughts from her mind to my crochet hook.

What are you most proud of?

I most proud that it turned out the way she envisioned it in her mind and that I was able to make it with only her instructions and ideas.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to listen to your child when creating something for them. The fact is they usually have more confidence in your abilities than you do!
