What was your inspiration?
I am inspired when I see a piece of artwork that can come to life through embroidery. Elegant simplicity gets my attention.
What are you most proud of?
I am thrilled that I've taken my hand embroidery from nothing and through practice and perserverence I now feel confident to present my embroideries to the world.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't get overwhelmed by a project. Take it one piece at a time and before you know it, your project is done and beautiful. This particular piece is a pillow, so a basic knowledge of sewing is really necessary. Pillows don't always require a zipper, they can be very basic. Any basic sewing book will provide instructions on pillow construction.
