What advice would you give someone starting this project? a lot of time and sometimes a mess, so have a place to layout and keep your parts, also start with a lap quilt, this is a california king, very heavy. don't back it in fleese.

I have always wanted to make one of these

be prepared to have a lot of pieces laying around for a while and remember, no matter how big your squares are, they should always be 1/2 to 1 inch bigger than the muslin back of each square.

I don't know how to find the instructions for this. I'm very new to this site sorry

I guess you hit follow me and my instructions with pictures are there. if you still cant find theml 1. no matter what size you cut your squares, cut the bottom (or muslin) 1/2 to 1 inch smaller, 2. when sewing them to make the pocket, sew on three sides taking a small tuck on each side. then when you get all your pockets made sew two rows together with the open side facing out. then stuff both rows (not too much stuffing) and sew shut. then just add row by row. sewing on and stuff and sew shut. when finished tie the backing on like old fashioned quilts and put a binding on. hope this helps

make your first 2 rows and stuff and sew them together, sew both sides closed, then it is just make a row - attach it - stuff it and sew it shut - then add another row till you have it as big as you want, add backing and tie it then bind it.
