Ecru crochet cotton, size 10, in 350 yd. (320 m) balls - Short Valance (5), Long Valance (7); a size 8 (1.50 mm) steel crochet hook; and a 5/8" diameter curtain rod.
What was your inspiration?
I love doing filet crochet and wanted a soft flowing design in a calm color for my window.
What are you most proud of?
I like the way the design cascades down on the sides and that I was able to incorporate the rod pocket into the design.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is worked from the top down. Detailed instructions are given in addition to a graph provided for reference. Keep track of the rows for the short or long valance, some rows are skipped for the short valance.
The finished sizes (from top of rod pocket) are:
Short Valance:
18-3/4" long in the center to 27" on the sides x 67-1/2" wide
Long Valance:
27" long in the center to 35-1/4" on the sides x 67-1/2" wide
A repeat in the pattern is provided to increase the width in 11-1/4" increments.
