Cotton fabrics, batting, and lots of thread
What was your inspiration?
Both Craftsy classes - Block of the Month & Free Motion Quilting a Sampler - were my inspiring influences in this quilt. I worked all year to make the different blocks each month. Even though I am not a beginning quilter, I learned new things each month. It was very worth my time, and translates to other projects I do. This last month I used Leah Day's class to improve my free motion quilting skills. It's been fun.
What are you most proud of?
I am ending up with 2 quilts, since I made 24 blocks total. The second quilt top is ready to be quilted and I will work on that next. It has a different sashing technique that gives it a totally different look.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you take the time to work through these 2 Craftsy classes, you will learn a lot.
