I have made 16 of these blocks...it is a great way to use scraps and I want a whole quilt from them.

I like the traditional, but I love adding and crossing patterns or matching objects aka horse quilt with horses crossed, cut, or mixed in, but comments are always, this is not traditional, is their a name for the type I do. Other than wild imagination.

This is gorgeous! If the points lined up it wouldn't be near as charming!

I did mine with strips matching up. It's a personal choice.

sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone. I did and it is very liberating.

Have made several of these (slight variations though) and it's a great way to make a dent in your scrap pile. There are so many colors that it makes up into a wonderful quilt for kids ----- great for teaching them their colors and they love hunting down their favorite fabrics.
