Traditional Dresdan Plate

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

With the course

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Traditional

Materials

Cotton, thread, Dresdan Ruler

What was your inspiration?

I had a few charm packs that I thought would make the traditional plate look fun and springlike; and I had the red and white stripe fabric on hand that I thought would make the wheel look like a candy!

What are you most proud of?

How cute they look (at least to me).

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be intimidated by the looks of a dresdan plate or wheel; they are unbelievably easy, particularly if you invest in Darlene Zimmerman's Dresdan Ruler!

I am so in love with your traditional dresden! Love those fabrics big time! Your modern one is very cool too, the stripes with the hearts really suits this block. Well done you!

Thank you! Don't you think the modern dresden looks kind of like an after dinner mint? :-)
