What was your inspiration?
My sister, Surlygirl, got me hooked into Craftsy. Through a tumultuous year for me personally, Craftsy was there every month. A bit of stability wherever I was to tap into and make my blocks. I had wanted to make a red and white quilt someday and this seemed to be the time. Amy was a good teacher and I enjoyed the process very much. I learned a lot.
What are you most proud of?
That I finished! My goal was to finish by the end of 2012 and I came pretty close.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just do it! I learned so much by getting in there and following the instructions, many times wondering how on earth this would turn out. But it usually did. I learned too late what 'scant 1/4" ' means, and there was some readjusting to do at the end.
