Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Free Motion Quilting a Sampler »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Romantic, Classic, Traditional

Materials

Cotton fabric and thread for piecing; polyester wadding and thread for quilting.

What was your inspiration?

Leah Day's and Amy Gibson's brilliant courses.

What are you most proud of?

Having mastered a curve (although the quilting curves are a bit erratic - still, practice will make perfect!).

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be put off by the fact that you've got curves to contend with - Amy's course show you how and Leah's course puts icing on the cake!

Love all the colors. Good grief. Do you ever sleep? Crafters, take a look at all the work Patz has done. It's an inspiration to us all

Thank you for your kind comments. I've stopped for the time being as Christmas has crept up on me and nothing's ready!

Thank you - the ones on the ocean are uneven too, so I suppose I should be satisfied with what I've done!

Ha, ha! Thank you - but you're looking at it from across the world! (Probably the best place to look at it from!)

Thank you. The colours in the photo are not really true - for instance, the green is quite a nice lime green that contrasts with the purples very well. In the picture it looks rather wishy-washy.

I'm still working on keeping curves smooth, but not with the most tremendous success. Yours look very nice! Just remember that no one is going to scrutinize every little stitch on your quilt.

Thank goodness! The last thing my quilt will need is close scrutiny. I'm thinking of putting a notice on it "please take off your glasses before examining"!
