What was your inspiration?
I fell in love with this nubby black and tan upholstery fabric, and used quilt batting to pad the walls and side panels of the box construction laptop tote.

What are you most proud of?
I hand sewed the lining in this tote, and also sewed in hard plastic, fabric covered panels for the side walls. Those panels reinforce the box shape, and fulfill the purpose of the laptop tote------to protect the laptop.
The zipper pull is made of handmade tan and black polymer clay beads, that I paired with some glass feather beads and a large coin charm featuring a dragon fly strung on a black corded shoestring. Grabbing a handful of beads to zip and unzip this bag adds function, feels nice, and gives the bag a totally feminine look.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have some fun--string a handful of beads to add to your handbag and tote zippers. Let me know if you've found new ways to add jewelry to your creations.
