Instructions

I found several tricks from the Sewing with Knits class were very helpful and made this a lot easier than previous T-shirts I've made. I used stretch needles (instead of ballpoint) and a walking foot, and the fabric sewed like a dream!

Materials

3 knit T-shirts from the young men's clearance racks, as large as I could find.

What was your inspiration?

We couldn't find a bright color-block T-shirt in his size that was quite right, so I made him one. I should have enough left to make a shirt for his little brother as well.

What are you most proud of?

It looks really nice! It looks store-bought in the good way-- polished and put-together.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Try the different strategies for sewing with knits. The walking foot and stretch needles are making it really easy for me with my machine. I can't wait to make more, maybe even for myself!
