Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Re-Piecing the Past: Civil War Blocks Then & Now »

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional

What was your inspiration?

This is the third block for the course. I chose the dark blue fabric to represent the storm ahead at the beginning of the war. Together with the gold triangles, the blue and gold represent the colors of my home state, West Virginia, which was formed as a result of the war.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Check and double-check the pieces as you cut and before you stitch.

The lightest fabric is a mottled pale yellow but didn't photograph as such.
