Pattern Info
Triangular Scarf in Leaf Pattern from Nancy Bush's Knitted Shawls of Estonia
Instructions
I did not string beads on yarn but placed them on stitches. Instructions are similar to those in Knitting with Beads Craftsy course.Difficulty:
Category: Knitting
Type of item: Accessory
For: Women
Style: Traditional, Romantic
Materials
I used Fino Alpaca with a Twist 70% Baby Alpaca/ 30% Silk Laceweight yarn in color 5010 which is a matte gold. I also used Miyuki 8/0 S/L Dk. Gold AB beads and it took 2 (10 gr.) tubes for border.
What was your inspiration?
The shawl is for my sister-in-law who's favorite tree is White Birch.
What are you most proud of?
Planning the beaded border as the pattern did not use beads. Also, successfully completing it without it going into the UFO pile!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take the mastering lace shawls class or the Knitting with Beads class and use lots of stitch markers to delineate between pattern repeats. Also, go back and count the stitches between markers after each knit row to be sure the count is accurate before the purl back row. It saves a lot of ripping out on confusing lace.
