What are you most proud of? I MADE A BIAS STRIP! I figured it out!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Look at my before/after photos. Study the positioning line carefully.

you just have to move your top strip to the right so that when yoy sew it you have a more of an overlap . try it on a scrap piece until you get it .

Thanks! I tried several times diferent ways and still wasn't working. I'll try again. I just cannot tell what I am supposed to be lining up so that I can do the next pieces reliably.

Meant to add that even though it doesn't look like it, my pieces are lined up edge to edge. That is, there is no overhang--I sewed point-to-point. I can see in the photo that I need to move left. I just cant figure out how to avoid this the next time. I can't "see" it yet, I guess.

i should have said move to the left!!!

You need to make little overlap wings that extend past the edges on each side so that where they meet the other strip is exactly where you start to sew the stitching line.

I did it. I did it!! I was frustrated all day and night. I finally took a big break, came back, and figured it out. I am amazed I can finally "see it." Shall we leave this 'project' up for any others who are struggling with joining the strips?

Good job on figuring it out! It can be a bit of a pain when the brain won't co-operate ;)

Please do!
