Wanted to try crocheting something other than a scarf or baby blanket.

My first crocheted piece of clothing.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Watch the video through first - the instructions are a great resource to the pattern. Linda is great, she give great tips, but you might want to implement some of them for the entire project rather than once she mentions them. She jumps around in the pattern (pattern starts with front - Linda starts with the back).
